All About Andi
| I'm actually an award-winning
multi-hyphenated actress - director - choreographer
- playwright who still has to have a day job. (No, seriously--I
really did win the first Rabin Award for Outstanding Performance by an
Actress in a Musical for Deep Ellum Opera Theatre's Gifts of the Magi
and a DFW Critics Forum Award for Outstanding Direction for the musical
Ruthless!) I have also used my writing skills for diverse
pursuits, writing plays, authoring an article for
the online fanzine WHOOSH! and co-authoring the character descriptions
on a popular set of Xena trading cards |

Good friend Steve Lovett and I on the
way to the first Rabin ceremony where I would soon be in shock
because I won an award. Since then, I've won a number of awards for my acting, directing, and even sound design. |
| I discovered
the theatre as an outlet for expression when I failed to make the drill
team in junior high school. Since being on the drill team was
the zenith for the junior high social scene, I was absolutely devastated.
My mother launched a frantic search for an alternative for me
socially (preferably something that would get me out of the house),
and remembered that a friend's daughter had become involved in a local
theatre group. Thus began a shining career. (By the way,
I did make the drill team in high school, thus affording some
measure of closure, and played the lead in Annie Get Your
Gun, to boot.)

I
also write plays with titles like Supermodel
Super Spies: Mortal Kompact!, High School Hellcats in Heels,
and the Rabin-nominated Bikini Beach Bloodsuckers. In addition,
I'm the author of a series of childrens plays which have toured the
DFW metroplex and are now being requested by theater groups and educators
around the country.
My warped sense of humor
comes from my late father, who, against my mother's wishes, would let
me stay up late to watch cheesy horror films, then would read me to
sleep while "transforming" into a werewolf. My favorite
color is purple, and I'm very fond of leopard print. My childhood
idols were Julie "Catwoman" Newmar, Ann-Margret,
and Diana Rigg (as Emma Peel)--strong female role models who had a profound
influence on both my character and fashion sense. I'm still waiting
for Prince Charming since I've kissed a lot of frogs
in my life!

Since I've
had such rotten luck with men, my only children are my furkids, who
are my pride and joy. I can often be found driving my friends crazy
with stories of their antics and cutesy animal photos. |
